Been looking for a universal shock mount that fits perhaps one of the girthiest microphones I own, which shares the same body as the MXL 770. The diameter on my condenser mic body is around 60mm+, and this mount just barely fits it where all other mounts I've tried are just far too small. Definitely worth looking at this mount if your microphone is on the big side.
The ability to quickly remove the microphone using the clips on the mount is something that I've also found very convenient. I hope that the latex bands will last the test of time. They seem to hold out better than the plain rubber bands that typically come with shock mounts, but otherwise these bands are user-replaceable.
