A jack-of-all-trades, and master of all of them, the xtSAs incredible sound power begins with three distinct voices: electric guitar, acoustic guitar and synth controller.

The xtSA delivers big time electric sounds via the Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration and thanks to a special 5-way switch setup extra meaty humbucker tones co-exist with glassy split-coil sounds in the second and forth position. Turn down the electric output and raise the volume on the RMC transducer saddles and the xtSA becomes an incredibly authentic-sounding acoustic guitar. The acoustic voice of the xtSA is enhanced by an onboard preamp with a three-way graphic EQ. The two outputs are set up so that the electric and acoustic voices can be blended in the guitar using a single patch cord or at the amp/mixer using both outputs. The icing on the xtSA cake comes in the form of its synth tracking, which simply put, is the best in the business. As with all of Godin synth-ready instruments, a built-in 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland GR-Series synths as well as most other 13-pin devices.

All of this sound power would be a lot less interesting if the guitar didnt feel great and great is exactly how the xtSA feels thanks to the same 25 scale, mahogany neck used on the Godin flagship LGX-SA guitar. The ebony fingerboard is shaped with Godins ergocut technique and equipped with medium jumbo frets. The body is made from a silverleaf maple center with poplar wings and decorated with a figured maple veneer on top.

Body - Silver Leaf Maple center with Poplar wings
Fingerboard - Ebony
Neck - mahogany
Scale - 25"
Electronics - Godin humbucker-single-humbucker, tremolo bridge with RMC transducers, custom pre-amp with 3 band EQ for acoustic sound
3 outputs - electric, acoustic/mix, 13-pin for Roland GR synths & most other 13-pin devices

Best guitar I've owned so far! The neck is so comfortable to play! It has it all, acoustic pickup, midi and electric pickups. Wouldn't change it for the world.

I bought it 3 years ago and I'm still very happy with that because it has 3 voices and I can choose one of these whenever I need it.
Play with guitar synth, it's an absolutely amazing, and great sound for acoustic as well on top of electric guitar. You do not need to buy three guitars but just this one.

I’ve been using it the last three years as my main guitar with a Roland GR 55 when doing gigs or studio recording. It’s very comfortable to play and I have never had to adjust it’s settings from the moment I picked it up to present day. Thanks to all the folks at Godin for making such an enjoyable guitar to play.👍🏼

This guitar has it all. First the negatives. I prefer an arched top, front sculpting and binding. These are asthetics only. The acoustic pickup sounds remarkably like an acoustic electric. The stock pickups are beefy and could use a little more high end, nothing amp EQ won't fix. Plays very well amd surprisingly, the whammy system stays in tune! Through much abuse it seems to be very stable. The synth ability is a bonus. So versatile. Nice finish, it is browner than the image would show. Love it!!

Found out about this guitar while looking for a replacement for the effect pick-up on the Roland GR 55. After seeing reviews on You Tube about it I ordered one and haven’t regretted it. Use it at all my gigs, (solo and with the band). I also like the fact that it is both electric and acoustic and can be played at the same time with the 55.

I love this Guitar 10 times better then SG Standard. And Less Heavy the my Les Paul. Way more tones than either. Acoustic sounds and gr 55 playability. for less money a Gibson. Well worth the play.

I just bought my new xtSA (KOA) last week. I picked it up at L & M in London and I literally couldn't put it down for fear that somebody else might buy it! Little did I know when I got up that day that I'd buy the most amazing guitar that I have ever owned in my 61 years (48 of those playing guitar)! I have been into guitar synth for decades now and this Godin system is something that has always just been on my bucket list in life. I got it. It's amazing. (I still have some synth setup issues but I'll deal with that.) This guitar is such a joy to play. The pickups are perfect. The neck is perfect. The wang bar is pretty good pitch-wise. (It's only a week old so I know I'll have it working shortly.) Long story short - Thank you Robert Godin & Troops for an amazing instrument. My fav now!

My main guitar it does everything. Electric sounds, acoustic sounds and synth sounds. It tracks very well and I use it with a GR 55. No issues at all but I do find it a tad heavy at times (Les Paulish). Great guitar though love it !

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
