Desirae started her musical journey like many children do around 6 years old in traditional private music lessons. Her first instrument of study was piano and soon doubled into voice. Beyond solo performances she moved into a leadership role running a youth choir where she first played music with other instrumentalists. Trained in classical piano and voice for 14 years, she was accepted to the Bachelor of Jazz and Contemporary Music program at MacEwan University and begun teaching privately in 2013. Her university adventures focused on Piano Composition and quickly inspired her to dive into other instruments. Today Desirae teaches Piano, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, and Theory in a wide range of styles. She prefers to approach lessons with an environment of enjoyment while providing a healthy foundation to the student’s technical playing. Regardless of your music goals, she is eager to help you explore different ways to learn your instrument(s) of choice.

Dhiego Costa was born in Brazil and has been playing piano for over 20 years. He attended the University of Manitoba on a full scholarship for the Master Degree in Jazz Piano program. While taking his master degree, he worked at U of M as a teacher assistant for the piano laboratory class (undergraduate students). He also holds a post baccalaureate degree in Music Education - Lato Sensu Graduate Program (Candido Mendes University - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil), Bachelor of Arts in Music (Piano) and Licensee in Music Education at the Federal University of Paraiba with “Academic Honours Distinction in Undergraduate Studies” - Brazil. Dhiego also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music (Baptist Theological Seminary of Northern Brazil). He was the pianist for the University choir (Federal University of Paraiba) for four years. He played for the UMJO (University of Manitoba Jazz Orchestra). He has travelled extensively and has played with Campbellsville University Jazz Orchestra (U.S.A), Brazilian Jazz Combo (U.S.A), Dhiego Jazz Trio (New Zealand), performed at the CPIT Jazz School (Christchurch - New Zealand), has led Brazilian music and Jazz Improvisation workshop in many places ( Dourados Music Festival - Mato Grosso do Sul). He has performed with Marco Castilo (Brazilian-Canadian artist) and his Brazilian Beats. Recently he played with the WJO (Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra). Dhiego has many years of teaching experience, and teaches all levels and all styles (Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Gospel, Brazilian Music and Latin Music). Dhiego offers piano lessons at our Winnipeg (Pembina) location.

Dominic is a legacy violinist, mastery of this instrument has been in his family for over 6 generations. His dad inspired a passion for the violin. Dominic has studied with Daniel Gervais for over 10 years, obtaining his level 6 in the Conservatory Canada repertoire and he fiddles too. Dominic has performed at the Jubilee Auditorium next to Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy.

Dominic's French-Canadian roots have encouraged this passion for the instrument and opened opportunities. He is an avid performer with a love for songwriting, and teaching. Dominic is accepting students for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. His lesson rate is $28 per half hour.

A versatile teacher with more than 30 years of experience, Don is patient, easy-going, and injects fun into his lessons to achieve solid results. Don has written & arranged with Canadian actor/musician Herbie Barnes ( CBC/CTV/ YPT Artistic Director) featured on APTN. From Metal to Jazz, Don makes music theory fun and easy to understand so it can be applied to any style.

Dorian was born and raised in Halifax, NS. Dorian completed his Undergraduate Degree in Music from Mount Allison University, while simultaneously studying Clarinet Performance at The Boston Conservatory. Dorian later moved to Toronto where he completed his Masters Degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Toronto. As an artist, Dorian has participated in masterclasses and festivals across North America and throughout Europe. He has worked with world-renowned artists from leading orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, and Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Dorian has performed at numerous prestigious venues including Sanders Theatre at Harvard, CBC Studios, and Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto.
At present, Dorian serves as the Vice Chair on the Board of Directors with the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra. Dorian is also the principal Clarinetist with the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra, and an on-call musician with Symphony Nova Scotia. Dorian is a sought after clinician, working with music festivals including the Atlantic Festival of Music and the Halifax Community Band Festival. Above all, Dorian remains dedicated to his clarinet and saxophone students. His students are members of provincial ensembles, community orchestras, and are leaders within their own school music programs.

Doug was a road band keyboardist in the days of his youth and later a restaurant pianist for the sake of his ears. He has been teaching piano in Kingston since 1998 and along the way picked up a Bachelor of Music from Queen's University. He enjoys playing and teaching in a broad range of styles including classical, jazz, pop, ragtime and anything in between, and has a knack for making lessons fun and easy for new students of all ages. He also composes in light classical and movie theme veins as well as the odd song. While studying for his music degree he was awarded the Maurice Dublin Memorial Prize in Composition. Doug's performance credits include a stint with five-time Juno Award winner Skip Prokop.
